What's the difference between Meet and Get Together?
Meet 和 Get Together 有什么分别呢？
To meet is to reunite in a specific place, at a specific time.
To meet 指在一定的时间和地点相会
Like, I will meet you at the coffeeshop this evening after work.
But to meet can also be used if you are introduced to someone for the first time.
此外，To meet 也可以适用在和人第一回认识的场合，
Like, Hello, I am Mark. It's so nice to meet you.
To meet up is to reunite at a specific time or place.
To meet up 也是在特定时间地点会头
Like, Can we meet up in the office to go over the new contract?
Then, to get together is to make plans to be with someone. Like, Let's get together for coffee.
To get together 是计划好和谁会合。好比，让我们一起喝咖啡聊聊
Of course, if you use with, it's followed by the person/people you plan to be with.
Like, I will meet up with Joey tomorrow. 我明天要和Joey会面
They always get together with their children for Christmas.他们总是和他们的儿女一起聚集庆祝圣诞节

For me, there's a church small group meeting at my home every weekend.

Yes. And I meet up with side of the family quite often.
As a matter of fact, Just a few days ago we had a party.
I know. 几天前他们有个生日庆祝会 It must be your birthday party, right?
How did you know? That's right. It was really nice.
Different Parties In America 美国不同的Party
Americans love to get together and have parties.
Here are some of them: 底下是其中一些
Birthday Party (生日Party)
Especially celebrating 16th, 18th and 21st birthdays.
Baby Shower (婴儿送礼Party)
This is a party where people bring gifts for the pregnant mother to welcome the new baby.
Farewell Party (欢送会)
This is usually held in the office to say goodbye to a co-worker.
Super Bowl Party (超级杯Party)
This is held on the night of the American Super Bowl game. The new commercials usually appear during the half time.
Housewarming Party (新家送暖Party)
When moving into a new home, usually the host will have a party like this.
Holiday Party (节日会)
This includes Fourth Of July, Halloween, Christmas, New Year's Eve, etc.
Bachelor/Bachelorette Party (单身汉/单身女郎Party)
This kind of party usually is held before the wedding
Surprise Party (惊喜Party)
This is the party in which the main character is brought to the location to be surprised.
Of course, there are also Surprise Party, Theme party in which a theme is chosen and people dress up according to the theme.
Here's a review of the different parties.

Parties are popular because we live in groups, work in groups, and socialize in groups.
We desire to have human interaction.
In the Bible, there is a word “fellowship”.
It means, partnership, participation, social interaction and communication.
Fellowship is to share together in spiritual activities.

not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some,
but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.

It's important for Christians to meet together and have fellowship with each other.
This is more meaningful than the normal 'meet and get together' or having a fun party.
In fellowship, where we gather in Jesus' name, God is among us.
We worship and honor God. And we encourage one another.
