“The ways of right-living people glow with light; the longer they live, the brighter they shine.
But the road of wrongdoing gets darker and darker – travelers can’t see a thing; they fall flat on their faces.”
We all wonder about our future. We try to imagine what our life will be like 5 years from now, or 10 years later. Only God knows exactly what will happen. But the Bible does give us a picture of two possible roads for our lives.
The first road has light shining on it. You can see where you are going. This is the road of people who are walking with God. The further you walk on that road, the brighter it gets.
But there is another road. The beginning of this road has only a little light. But as you walk on this road, it gets darker and darker. This is the road away from God. Eventually, the road gets completely dark. You cannot see anything at all. The people walking on this road fall down.
These “words to live by” are from the Bible – Proverbs, chapter 4, verses 18 and 19:
“The ways of right-living people glow with light;
the longer they live, the brighter they shine.
But the road of wrongdoing gets darker and darker –
travelers can’t see a thing; they fall flat on their faces.”
