“Honor God with everything you own;give him the first and the best.Your barns will burst, your wine vats will brim over.”
When we think about the future, we worry. We wonder: “Will I have enough? Enough money? Enough food? Enough clothes?” So, if we get more things, we feel safer. Because we think we will have enough. 每当想到未来时，我们总是烦忧，会想：我拥有的够吗？我有足够的钱，足够的食物和衣服吗？也因此，觉得积累更多的东西，就越有安全感。因为认为多就是足够。
But the Bible tells us that this is not a good way to live. It says that we should give God the first and the best. Don’t hold onto everything we own. It sounds dangerous. But God promises that if we live this way, we will have enough. We will have more than enough.
The Bible says that “your barns will burst.” This means that the place where we store our food will not be big enough to hold the food God provides. It says, “your wine vats will brim over.” This means that the place we store our wine will not be able to hold all the wine that God provides.
So, the meaning is that if we give God the first and the best, God will provide everything we need for life, more than we need.
These “words to live by” are found in the Bible, in the book of Proverbs, chapter 3, verse 9，10:
