Welcome to the Moody Church. We brought you here today because the Moody Church represents what worship is for people who live in the West.
The Moody Church is an awesome place to worship God. The congregation has been here for over a hundred years. And this building, this awesome sanctuary we are standing in, is nearly one hundred years old. When you first walk in to the Moody Church, you are just awestruck by the great architecture. The sanctuary that I'm standing in seats nearly 4000 people. This has been a place where Christians come together to grow, to serve, and to learn about God's Word, together in fellowship.
Music has always been an important function here in worship at the Moody Church. The singing of songs and hymns, gospel songs and contemporary music has always been a mainstay here at Moody Church, and the great instrument that leads all this praise is the mighty Moody Church pipe organ, one of the few pipe organ churches left in North America. Truly a place to give praise to God.
Among the important sacraments here in Moody Church is baptism, and regularly, they baptize newly-born and believers here in Moody Church. They follow the example of what Christ Himself did as recorded in the Gospels. Christ Himself was baptized by John the Baptist by immersion and the Moody Church follows that example by baptizing regularly.
Another sacrament that is observed regularly is Holy Communion. Again, Christ Himself brought that example when He broke bread and poured wine to signify the broken body and shed blood of Christ when He died, and that model is followed regularly in the Moody Church.
This is a great place to worship God. This is what worship looks like in the West. And you'll notice here in the Moody Church, their theme verse is, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today and forever." We're glad you could join us.
